Wazza Word for November 13th
This time we’re going ‘outside of the box’, and into French. I came across these two words while translating some culinary projects:
A SOMMELIER is a waiter in a restaurant who has charge of wines and their service, or a wine steward. And, he carries a TASTEVIN, which is a silver wine-tasting cup traditionally carried by a sommelier. (Both definitions are from merriam-webster.com.) A wonderful description of what a sommelier does can be found at the following URL: http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/food-facts/food-careers/how-to-become-a-sommelier1.htm.
And, the learning quote for this week is:
“One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way.”
